A Trip to Australia and New Zealand
Auckland - Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Experience and Underwater World
Mr. Tarlton built one of the first, if not the first, underwater tunnels in any aquarium in the world. This one is slightly longer than an American football field and provides unique viewing angles of all manner of marine life including sharks, rays, and octopus (see the eye below). If you look closely at the floor of the tunnel you will see a moving footpath similar to the people movers used in modern airports. A visitor can stand in one place and ride around the entire viewing area. Any time you want to stop for a while you just step to the side.
