A Trip to Australia and New Zealand
Rotorua
As noted elsewhere, the official New Zealand tourist offices in all of the communities that we visited were some of the very best information centers that we have ever run into anywhere in the world. It was lunch time, we were hungry, we did not want to waste any time looking for a good meal, and we obviously did not know much about Rotorua. What to do? Find the information service. Not hard to do. Their office even had a Maori guardian standing watch. We described what we were looking for (the best and most reasonably priced hamburger and fries in town). It turned out that the Fat Dog was just down the street and they were right about the food and the price.
