The Trail Through Time is located just 30 miles west of Grand Junction, Colorado in Rabbit Valley. Interstate Highway I-70 runs right past the trailhead and there is a convenient turnoff nearby. Today the site is a bit on the arid side, but 140 million years ago the area was a lush garden with forests, lakes, rivers and ponds inhabited by a variety of dinosaurs and flying reptiles. Today fossilized bones and plant material can still be found and several of the more prominent sites are marked alongside a 1.5 mile trail that loops through the area. Bring a hat and water - it can get very hot.
