Fremont Indian State Park
Fremont Indian State Park is located on Interstate Highway 70 twenty-one miles southwest of Richfield, Utah. The Fremont Indians are believed to have lived between A.D. 400 to 1300. This state park preserves one of the most important collections of Fremont Indian rock art known to exist in the state of Utah. Over 500 petroglyph and pictograph panels have been found. Several trails meander through the park and give access to rock art and a ceremonial cave. A small museum houses a collection of Fremont culture artifacts. A pit house has been reconstructed near the museum demonstrating the way in which the Indians lived. If you are at all interested in rock art this park should be on your must see list.
