The crew of the Volendam was professional, polite, helpful, cheerful, and delightful. This was true of the personnel on our other Holland America cruises as well. They are enjoyable to be around and we looked forward to seeing them every day of our cruise. Most of the time they correctly anticipated our every need, but if there was a special request their response was always positive and helpful.

These ships prepare thousands of meals every day. The quality and variety of the food is amazing day in and day out for the entire cruise. The dining room staff serves these thousands of meals every day and they do it with efficiency and grace. Most of the dining room personnel were Indonesian and toward the end of our cruise they put on a special dinner for everyone. Good food and good fun.
