A Trip to Australia and New Zealand
Sydney - Botanical Gardens
The English lion together with the classic rose garden ensures that one understands that the heritage of these grounds stretches back to the British Isles. (Director Moore, a Scott, had been trained in the Botanical Gardens of Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.) Classical statuary distributed through the undulating terrain along with the endless promenades works well toward this end as well.
Color is an important element of all of the Australian birds that we ran into on this trip. Even the gull was different from the North American variant in that the most common Australian specie that we saw has a red bill.
