Weather-wise we were extremely fortunate during our trip. We experienced some drizzle in Yaroslavl, a morning of dense fog while cruising, and a sudden afternoon thunder storm on our last day in St. Petersburg. Other than that, we had mostly sunny skies and warm spring weather throughout the two weeks we were in country. One of our guides told us that St. Petersburg only has sixty days of sunshine a year, but I presume that this is an exaggeration meant to amplify our feeling of good fortune. (Even the crescendo of thunder was appreciated because it struck while we were visiting the place where Rasputin was murdered. Very dramatic sound effects.)
